Guaranteed Industries Limited has been engaged by Montreal’s healthcare centres to provide expertise in the implementation and modernization of various HVAC projects (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) Completion of work at the MUHC’s Montreal General Hospital and Montreal Childrens’ Hospital will add more cooling comfort. At the Royal Victoria Hospital some of the older wings will now be air conditioned for the first time.

Improvements at the Montreal General Hospital required Guaranteeed Industries to modify and replace existing ventilation systems and install new air conditioning units in the Gastroenterology Department, the Psychiatry Department and the Echocardiograph Lab – CCU.

At the Royal Victoria Hospital, nursing offices in the Neonatology Centre of the Womens’ Pavilion will now be cooler and more comfortable thanks to the recent addition of air conditioning units.

Doctors meeting with patients in the consulting offices at the Vic’s Cardiac Surgery wing will greatly appreciate the more energy efficient, multi-zone AC system that can be individually controlled for better patient comfort. Patients of the Transplant Clinic and PCU in the Ross Pavilion will now have the healing benefits of a modern climate control system. Professionals at the Montreal Chest Institute on St-Urbain will stay cool with a Guaranteed Industries air conditioning system recently added to the Teleconference Centre.

Air quality analysis and cleaning of the HVAC system were performed at the Lakeshore General Hospital by Guaranteed’s affiliated division AirQualité Ltd. Modifications were also done to the hospital’s air system distribution.

At the CHUM’s Hôpital Notre Dame, 3 new surgical operating rooms have been added including the only one in the province dedicated for dual organ transplants. Guaranteed Vice-President Frank Pinto was Project Manager on this very specialized job. “Adding to the complexity of this project were space limitations of the ceiling which affected the ventilation, electrical, sprinklers and medical gas systems,” explains Pinto. “Modifications to the engineers design drawings and coordination with the other trades were vital to the success of the project.”
